Avenue of Volcanoes

We offer you a complete advice to bring you to the beautiful top of the highest snow- covered volcano in the world, the Cotopaxi (5.897 meters / 19.343 feet) and the highest snow-covered mountain measured from the center of the Earth, Chimborazo (6.310 meters / 20.702 feet). The preparation allows visiting exclusive locations of the Ecuadorian Andes and less demanding peaks, such as Pasochoa (4.199meters / 13,776 feet), Rucu Pichincha (4,627 meters / 15,180 feet) and Illiniza Norte (5,126 meters / 16,817 feet). These three peaks do not have permanent snow, but one can surely admire the beauty of the Ecuadorian Andes, with diverse landscapes that include the amazing biodiversity of the highlands. Rucu Pichincha

4.627m. / 15.180 feet). It takes 1 day to reach the peak of the Rucu Pichincha, it starts with the transfer to the antennas via cable railway until reaching 4.100 meters, once there, there’s a walking path through steep slopes surrounded by pasturelands to the rocky part. You can choose between two routes. The safest one is around the right flank, where you can reach the peak by walking through steep sandy slopes.

Illiniza Norte

(5.126 m. / 16.817 feet).  A rocky rise that is not permanently covered by snow. There are many routes, the easiest one, being considered the normal route, has some stretches that require hand leaning. The surrounding landscape allows viewing of the Southern Illiniza, which is permanently covered by snow, with a lake located at the bottom of the peak. The Northern Illiniza can be crowned in 2 days.

Cayambe

(5.789 m. / 18.993 feet). The Cayambe volcano is located above the ecuatorial line or 0˚ latitude. It is known by its great amount of cracks, for which it takes 2 days with an experienced guide to crown its peak. On the first day, we will be ascending to the shelter located 4.600 meters. The second day, we will reach the centre top of the mountain, after going through slopes with glaciers.

Chimborazo

6.310m. / 20.702 feet). Chimborazo is the Ecuadorian highest mountain, and for sure, one of the most demanding ascensions. One can try to ascend Chimborazo during the whole year. Chimborazo was first ascended in 1880 and ever since, the impressive shape of this extinct volcano is a great attraction to many climbers.
